Arhavi is a town and district of Artvin Province in the mountains above the Black Sea coast in the east of Turkey.

Arhavi is "Arkabi" in Laz and was formerly known as "Kapisre".

Arhavi is a small town and a collection of villages in two lush green valleys on the north side of the Eastern Black Sea Mountains. This is mountainous countryside, with surrounding peaks up to 3000m, but the valleys are fertile and used for planting tea and hazelnuts.

The people of Arhavi are mainly Laz and the district attracts visitors from neighbouring Georgia.

"Arhavili Ismail" is a poem about the Turkish War of Independence by Nazim Hikmet, it has been recorded by Zulfu Livaneli, music star born into an Artvin family, and by local musician Volkan Konak.
