Asia 2001

Asia 2001, a trance music project from France, consists of members Martin Cooper (musician) and Florian Seriot. Asia 2001 have been producing music since the beginning of the 1990s, since trance first achieved widespread recognition as a genre[citation needed]. The group places emphasis on melody and aims to produce strong, atmospheric music.

Asia 2001 orginate from the south of France, where they produce most of their music at their private studio 'The Stargate'. Backing Asia 2001 is Martin Cooper, also known as Loren-X, who in the past has released albums on R&S, Polygram, F-Com and Distance.

Martin Cooper established Trans Pact Productions in 1992 with his wife Thaisha. Shortly after, he released “Fly in Rajasthan”, which received public acclaim[citation needed]. Trans`Pact has released numerous singles and albums, including Spectral’s 'Trance O 10 C', which was followed by the release “Goa Exit”, Transwave’s first single.

Cooper collaborated with DJ Anti in 1995 and produced the first Toires album in 1996. The breakthrough for the group came with the release of “Lunar Attraction” on 12 inch single with the label Koyote, combined with their debut album 'Râ'.

In 1997, Asia 2001 was signed to Avatar Records and released the albums 'Ama Zone' and 'Dreamland'. The group had considerable success and saw a marked increase in their popularity through out the world[citation needed].

Asia 2001 are now prominent acts in the electronic scene. They have performed live all over Europe, including the Berlin Love Parade, the Middle East and Canada. Asia 2001 have played in New York clubs such as the Limelight and the Tunnel. Finally, they have appeared with artists including Carl Cox, Robert Leiner, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Miles and Total Eclipse.
