Onna

ONNA is one of the local governments in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It is actually an acronym for the three clans that it comprises, namely: Oniong, Nnung Ndem and Awa.

Because of its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, the people of ONNA are predominantly fishermen.

There is a tremendous amount of oil and gas off the shores of ONNA. The major oil companies with concerns in ONNA LGA are Exxon Mobil and Total S.A..
